Chattanooga State Hires Mike Spears as Pitching Coach

Spears is deeply committed to teaching, developing, and preparing pitchers to reach their full potential. He has a strong passion for the game, strong work ethic, and dedication to player development.

Utilizing technology, he focuses on pitch design and analytics to refine arsenals and enhance performance. One notable player Spears was able work with and gain knowledge from is Alex Vesia of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He continues to have close relationship with Vesia, along with numerous other minor league and amateur pitchers.

Spears prioritizes development in an individual's movements, the mental aspects of pitching, and on-field performance. He integrates strength and conditioning knowledge into his training approach and emphasizes a realistic view of player education—on and off the field. His goal is to inspire, challenge, and prepare pitchers for success at every stage of their baseball journey.
