Bio
Kristy Lenoir is a native of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She has been involved with the sport of volleyball for the past 35 years. Lenoir has developed a passion for coaching young women with intentions of instilling valuable lessons that will help her student athletes succeed in life.
After being named Arkansas Female Athlete of the year in 1988, Lenoir attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on a full athletic scholarship where she was a four year starter for the Lady Vols. Lenoir was an ALL-SEC and ALL-SEC Academic performer. She graduated from UTK in 1992 with a degree in Special Education.
Lenoir comes to Chattanooga State with over 21 years of coaching experience. Most recently, Lenoir served as Chattanooga's East Hamilton Middle/High School head coach. She was there in the inaugural year of the school and coached the Hurricanes for seven seasons. During her tenure at East Hamilton she coached several All-State performers and twice finished in the top five of the Tennessee AA state tournament. Prior to East Hamilton, Lenoir coached at the Boyd Buchanan School where she led the Bucs to back-to -back state appearances. In 2008, the Bucs finished their season as State Runner-Ups and Lenoir was named Tennessee East All-Star coach.
Lenoir is entering her third season with the Lady Tigers. During her time at Chattanooga State she has coached four All Region players, one Region Freshman of the Year, one Region Player of the Year, and one honorable mention All-American, as well as earning 2021 Region Co-Coach of the Year. “I am so excited about where this program is headed! We have an awesome group of hardworking student athletes that are committed to giving their best in the classroom, as well as the gym. I am proud to be at Chattanooga State and am looking forward to building a nationally competitive program”, said Lenoir.
Kristy is married to Patrick Lenoir, former UT offensive lineman, and they have three children: Jackson, Bailey, and Emma. Jackson played tennis at Milligan College and volleyball at Briar Cliff University. He is currently the head volleyball coach at UT Southern. Bailey played football at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, where he was an ALL-SOCON performer. Emma played volleyball at Christian Brothers University. She finished her career as the active DII national kills leader.
